Motorized Turntable, Part One

It was decided to make better use of a 10" brass turntable, previously only used for spray painting circular objects. The intention is to set up a slow speed motor drive, controlled by a foot switch. The motor is small but a 12V high torque unit with a gearbox, giving 30 RPM - this then reduced further by about 8:1 to the turntable via a drive belt. Final revolutions would be about 3 3/4 turns per minute (one rev/16 seconds). A speed contoller needs added. We make 2 brass pullies for potential use. This video tries out a new camera mounting system, with the fabricated offset column being shown briefly at the beginning - sometimes a bit of nuisance vibration..
