A Useful Gasket Punch Set, and Inexpensive Parallels
| Despite having many wad cutter punches, this Chinese made punch set is way better due to having a spring loaded center finder - thus helping to cut accurate and centered washers, shims etc. It suits thin copper, brass, leather, rubber etc - anything not too hard - and covers from 1 1/2" down to 1/4". Originally a Harbor Freight item but it appears to no longer be listed. It was not expensive and for occasional use is good to have on hand. Finally a brief look at a set of 1/8" parallels - (going from 1/2" to 1 5/8" dia, all 6" long) - Chinese of course from Harbor Freight and for $30 list price amazing value and accuracy. |
